de Ley Reserva Rioja 2001
|
A
blend of about half Santa
Maria Merlot with Mendocino
Merlot and Cabernet, this
wine has the richest feel
of any Orleans Hill wine.
Santa Maria brings the power
and Mendocino the style.
A bit of french oak exposure
rounds out the mouth and
feel-- again styling a wine
that should please the multitude
of Merlot drinkers looking
for a bolder medium bodied
red with pleasant cherry
fruit notes covering the
whole palate. |
Grape
varieties
well adapted to the growing
conditions and precise wine
making explain the current
regularity of the wines
of this estate.
They are particularly attractive
for the supple freshness
and well-defined fruit flavours. |
Intensely
colored with ruby tones.
Forward, wide open nose
of ripe fruit and spice:
red and black berries, mulled
spice aromas. Bright, ripe
fruit upfront on the palate,
soft tannins, mild acidity.
Spicy fruit lingers in the
finish.
Baron de Ley is unique in
Rioja on several points:
the bodega relies almost
exclusively on fruit from
its own estate; high quality
Reserva and Gran Reserva
are the focus of production;
and extensive maturation
is used. The result is a
soft yet generous style
of wine, at a very high
level of quality. |

With a deep ruby color
and intense aromas of
cherry and red fruit,
this Chianti Classico
balances ripe fruit and
acidity with well integrated
accents of wood and spice.
A great match with roasted
meats and flavorful pastas,
this wine is also delicious
to sip on its own without
food.

This
is a dark ruby-color wine,
with appealing scents of
black and red cherries and
warm spices. Juicy and tart,
it's all about simple fresh-cherry
fruit and zippy acidity
in a nicely balanced package.
|
Sour black cherry. Persistent
flavors of red berries
with soft tannins and
an overall fine structure.

A
new cabernet sauvignon with
a great price tag-.
This full bodied well balanced
wine that has a thick textured
palate that echoes thick
black fruit flavors. Velvety
tannins lead to a long complex
finish that screams for
another splash. The wine
is aged in oak for 8 months
after a malolactic fermentation
to add softness and complexity
while packing powerful fruit
forward character.
|

2005 Rosso Classico:
Copious quantities of berry
fruit, along with spice
and pepper in this supple
- textured, pleasing mid
- weight red.
2006 Chardonnay:
The fresh, graceful style
of IL CUORE Chardonnay results
from cold fermentation in
small stainless steel vessels
and small components of
barrel fermentation in mostly
neutral French oak cooperage.
The gentle use of oak in
our winemaking offers versatility
with a wide range of foods.
